Canine Lovers Fail to Make Million Dog March Record

Million Dog March

Thousands took part in the Bay Area's first Million Dog March on Sunday, and despite a fun time in the sun, the canine lovers did not break any world records.

The event was held at McLaren Park in San Francisco, and everyone who came out was hoping to break the world record for the largest dog walk. Though they fell short of the record, it seemed like most had fun on the three-mile walk through the park.

"This is an attempt to have a heck of a good time," said Sally Stephens, a dog organizer. It's also about "standing up for your dog, for yourself and for your dog.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control, to benefit the city's animal shelters.

Britain, by the way, holds the world record in dog walking.
