Cat Named After Carlos Santana Up for Adoption at San Francisco Cat Cafe

The latest adoptable arrival at San Francisco's KitTea Cafe is named after a local rock legend.

Santana, named after Carlos Santana, is a black cat. He's so new to KitTea that he hasn't had all of his paperwork completed yet, but staffers believe he is about a year old.

KitTea Cafe works with SF-based nonprofit Wonder Cat Rescue to select adoptable felines to live in the cat lounge portion of the business, where patrons can book an hour of time to hang out and play with cats while sipping tea and eating waffles and other snacks.

The adoption process typically takes about five to seven days and may include a home visit in addition to an interview.

KitTea is also hiring part time "cat wranglers" for the summer.
