Charges Filed in High School Beating

The Solano County District Attorney's Office filed charges this morning against six suspects, four of them brothers, in connection with the beating of a Vallejo high school student Thursday.

Three of the suspects, Ron Tili, 18, his 26-year-old brother Abraham Tili, and 17-year-old Nicholas Richard Cole are to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today in Department 21 of Solano County Superior Court in Fairfield.

Vallejo police also arrested 18-year-old Ray Tili and 26-year-old Alexander Tili and 18-year-old Kevin Young.

All six are charged in connection with the beating of Bryant Lee, 17, a student and basketball player at Jesse Bethel High School.

Vallejo police said the suspects emerged from two vans around 4 p.m. Thursday and one of them struck a 16-year-old girl in the face.

Bryant and other basketball players who were outside the student union area waiting for basketball practice to begin intervened, Vallejo City Unified School District spokesman Jason Hodge said.

The beating was recorded by a school surveillance camera.

Bryant was kicked, punched and choked and was taken to a hospital in Walnut Creek, Hodge said.

He was in serious but stable condition Monday afternoon, was able to speak and was removed from a ventilator, Hodge said.
