CHP Rescue “Intoxicated” Man From Stinston Beach

The California Highway Patrol swooped down from a helicopter to rescue a man described as “highly intoxicated” who fell from rocks and hit his head at Stinson Beach.

The CHP said the 20-year-old Concord man had fallen about 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday and was “combative” with firefighters who tried to help him.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the National Parks Service asked for help, and a CHP helicopter was sent to hoist him up from the beach where he had landed on “impassable terrain." The chopper crew took some video of the rescue.

The man fell unconscious and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, the CHP said. He was also arrested, though the CHP didn’t specify the exact charges.
