Christmas came early for two Bengal tiger cubs at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. During the cubs daily walk (the cats wear collars and leashes when they go out), the park's staff gave them wrapped boxes containing stuffed animals. The five-month-old female Bengal tiger and the four-month-old male white Bengal tiger took turns with each toy – a big ape and a small tiger toy. The two had a blast. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom recently acquired the pair from a facility in South Carolina where they are being hand-reared. In May, the park will open a new exhibit and show venue called Odin’s Temple of the Tiger to showcase the beauty and agility of the parks at the tigers. Among the tigers is Odin, a seven-year-old white Bengal tiger whose size in comparison to the new cub is obvious. Odin is world-renowned for his underwater diving skills and the new venue will include a large underwater viewing window for guests to see his prowess underwater. The cubs are still unnamed and the park will announce the names soon after they make their “official” debut.
