Cienega Fire in Hollister Scorches 200 Acres, is Zero Percent Contained

A fire sparked south of Hollister Monday evening and grew to 200 acres in roughly five hours, fire officials said.

Cal Fire's San Benito-Monterey unit responded to the so-called Cienega Fire, which is located at Cienega and Lime Kiln roads in San Benito County. But as of 10 p.m., officials said, the blaze was zero percent contained.

So far, no injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened, Cal Fire said.

The fire agency has deployed 125 firefighters, eight engines, two dozers, two helicopters, two air tankers and two water tenders to the area.

Cal Fire officials told NBC Bay Area that crews are struggling to access the flames due to the presence of steep foothills.
