Oakland's urban farmer are celebrating 10 years in the business.
City Slicker Farms will mark a decade of growing and harvesting fresh and healthy food in West Oakland on Oct 13 at the David Brower Center in Berkeley.
The ceremony will also honor 10 "local heroes" who have helped keep the farm open all these years.
There will also be 10 popular East Bay chefs who will create a meal using local, seasonal ingredients.
The celebration comes as Oakland looks to overhaul its urban farming laws to allow more people to get involved with growing and distributing fresh and local fruits and vegetables.
