Two employees of a Fairfield Costco store were stabbed during an attempted robbery Monday night.
Police said a man and a woman entered the Costco store at 5101 Business Center Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. and began to put items into a shopping cart. The woman left and got into an Acura Integra and waited outside.
The man then took the shopping cart full of items and attempted to flee out a side door, but two male employees followed him and tried to stop him in the parking lot, police said.
A struggle ensued, during which the man stabbed both employees in the lower legs, police said.
The suspects then abandoned the stolen property and fled in the Acura.
The man is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants, and has crooked, discolored teeth.
The woman is white, between 20 and 30 years old, with a thin build. She was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
Both employees were treated at NorthBay Medical Center and released.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Fairfield police at (707) 427-7300. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
