Second Fire This Week at Former Vallejo School Building Considered Suspicious: Firefighters

Vallejo firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire reported late Thursday at a former school district building that was involved in a three-alarm fire earlier this week.

The blaze is considered suspicious, firefighters said. The previous fire at 211 Valle Vista St. was reported just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday and was brought under control around 11 p.m., according to fire officials.

The boarded up building was once used by the school district as a main office but recently has been occupied by homeless people, firefighters said.

One firefighter suffered a minor cut to the hand from glass in the building.

Three homeless people at the scene told responders there was a person still in the building when the fire broke out, but no one was located inside the building, firefighters said.
