Driver Fleeing in Stolen Charger in Santa Rosa Crashes Into 7 Cars, Starts Fire: Police

Police are investigating a driver fleeing in a stolen car who crashed into seven cars in Santa Rosa and started a fire early morning on Friday.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of W. Steele Lane around 12:30 a a.m. for a multiple vehicle traffic collision. Police and Santa Rosa fire personnel arrived on scene and located multiple vehicles engulfed in flames. They also found a man lying on the street who was unresponsive and had significant injuries. No other victims were located and the fires were quickly extinguished.

During their investigation, officers were approached by several people who witnessed the collision, who said that the vehicle that caused the collision, a 2011 white Dodge Charger, had just been stolen from their residence on Rhianna Street in Santa Rosa. They had been following the vehicle when it collided with at least seven cars.

Police are still investigating the suspect’s involvement in the collision. Based on his injuries, it is believed that he was the driver of the Charger and involved in the theft of the vehicle. Police have yet to identify the driver and determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
