A preliminary 2.5 magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday near Gilroy, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, which shook at about 11:40 a.m., was centered about 6.1 miles southwest of Gilroy, the USGS said.
No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
