East Bay Police Chase Ends in Watery Mess

A high-speed police chase that spanned from Oakland to San Leandro ended when the suspect’s car hit a fire hydrant.

Water gushed onto the road near the intersection of Williams Boulevard and Orchard Avenue.

It all started in Oakland when police tried to stop the car around 2 a.m. Thursday morning after hearing gun shots, according to police.

The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital. No word on their injuries.
