Shooting at Sunvalley Mall in Concord Leaves 1 Critically Injured

One person was injured in a shooting at Sunvalley Mall in Concord Friday afternoon, police said.

At around 3:45 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired and upon arrival, found one person shot. The victim was transported to the hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition, police said.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim intervened in a robbery of an individual inside the mall. The person trying to help was shot by the suspects who then fled the mall, police said.

The mall was on lock down for a couple of hours before officers gave the all clear.
