Man Killed When SUV Broadsides Car in East Palo Alto

The SUV may have been driven by an unlicensed juvenile, police say.

A man was killed when his sedan was broadsided in East Palo Alto Thursday afternoon by an SUV driven by a possibly unlicensed juvenile, a police sergeant said.

The crash happened in the 900 block of East Bayshore Road at 12:47 p.m., police Sgt. Angel Sanchez said.

The man driving the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not yet being released.

The juvenile male driver and his passenger, also a juvenile male, were both taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Sanchez said. The juvenile driver may be unlicensed and it's possible he could face charges for the crash, according to Sanchez.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police are canvassing the area for possible witnesses and surveillance footage.
