First of all she is not even American, she is British. And she was not discovered by the pride of Chicago, Mr. West.
The 29-year-old R&B soulstress has been dropping hits and winning awards since 2004. And now she is bringing her act to the Bay Area to play the Mezzanine in San Francisco this Thursday with Solange, Suai and DJ Funloar at 8 p.m.
She first broke onto the scene in 2004 with her chart toppers "Free" and "1980" but it was her duet with West that got her to the top of the charts in 10 countries including the US.
