All lanes on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in East San Jose have reopened following a fatal accident near an off-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fourth lane from the left on southbound 101 was reopened at about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a CHP dispatcher said.
The fatal crash occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on southbound 101 near the McKee Road off-ramp, according to the CHP.
At least two vehicles were involved in the crash and at least one drove off of the highway and down an embankment.
The CHP then issued a Sig-alert because of the closure of at least one lane near the scene of the crash.
