Two people were injured and four were arrested early Thursday in a warehouse explosion and fire in San Leandro that turned out to be an illegal hash oil lab, police and fire officials said.

The blaze was burning a warehouse in the 1700 block of Timothy Drive. At least four people were inside the warehouse at the time of the explosion, and two were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Alameda County fire officials said.

San Leandro police have taken two people into custody at the scene and two others at the hospital, saying the four were running a illegal butane honey oil lab when warehouse exploded. The men were extracting hash oil from 20 pounds of marijuana, police said

The warehouse owner told NBC Bay Area the people who were inside the building are renters.
