Highway 1 in Marin County was shut down for hours Thursday while crews battled a brush fire in Slide Ranch.
The so-called Muir Fire burned at least 58 acres. Firefighters late Thursday afternoon reported forward progress had been stopped and the blaze was 20% contained.
Highway 1, between Stinson and Muir beaches, is closed. Officials say Shorelines/Panoramic in Stinson and Frank's Valley Road is also closed.
No evacuations were ordered during the fire, officials said.
