Firefighters battled a fire at the former Holiday Bowl in Hayward Friday evening.
The building, located at 29827 Mission Blvd., has been vacant since 2005 and is a landmark for many people who grew up bowling there.
“Bowled here since I was a kid,” said Hayward resident Rich Beyelia. “Man, this is the place we used to go on Friday and Saturday nights.”
The fire sparked just after 6 p.m. No injuries have been reported and the cause is under investigation.
