An abandoned Oakland library is a total loss following a one-alarm fire Friday afternoon, officials say.
The blaze was reported at the city-owned building on the 1400 block of Miller Avenue, just east of Interstate 880. Fire officials said the building has burned before and was a concern.
When the fire erupted, thick, black smoke could be seen shooting into the sky from across the region.
No injuries have been reported and no other information was immediately available.
