Four Juveniles Arrested After Carjacking in Antioch

Four juveniles were arrested Sunday afternoon in Pleasant Hill as suspects in a carjacking in Antioch after their stolen car collided with another vehicle and later became disabled, Pleasant Hill and Antioch police said.

Antioch police were investigating a carjacking in the 5000 block of Lone Tree Way at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday, said police Sgt. Gary Lowther.

The stolen four-door sedan was spotted on westbound state Highway 4 by a Pittsburg police officer, according to a social media post by Pleasant Hill police.

The stolen car was pursued at high speeds onto southbound Interstate Highway 680 in Pleasant Hill, where at about 1:18 p.m. Sunday the car was involved in a collision on the Gregory Lane offramp from southbound I-680, police said.

The suspects then fled; two were arrested at the crash scene, and two others arrested in the nearby Courtyard shopping center on Contra Costa Boulevard in Pleasant Hill, police said. All four were taken to Juvenile Hall, Lowther said.

No one was injured in either the carjack or the Gregory Lane collision, police said.
