Free Dance Lessons in Union Square

Local salsa instructors are hosting free lessons and live music tonight in San Francisco's Union Square, the first of several such events scheduled over the summer.

The event is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will feature music by Anthony Blea y su Charanga, said Evan Margolin, CEO of www.SalsaCrazy.com.

Three or four instructors will offer free salsa lessons for beginners starting at 6 p.m., Margolin said.

Live music will follow at about 6:20 p.m., featuring Blea, a violinist who is accompanied by a group of singers, flautists and horn players, Margolin said.

The entire event is free and open to the public. Similar  salsa-dancing events will be held in Union Square on July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, and Oct. 21.
