A gas leak that prompted a shelter in place advisory at San Francisco's Hall of Justice Thursday morning has been capped, according to PG&E.
The leak occurred when just after 10 a.m. when construction crews not related to PG&E punctured a 2-inch natural gas line near Seventh and Bryant streets, San Francisco Assistant Fire Chief Jose Velo said.
Crews were able to stop the leak at 10:40 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Andrea Menniti said.
"Fortunately there was no ignition point, so it didn't ignite," Velo said, adding that PG&E crews didn't have to dig that deep to stop the flow of gas.
Earlier this month, construction crews digging in the city's Lone Mountain neighborhood struck a gas line, causing a three-alarm fire that burned for more than two hours and damaged five buildings.
