Gas Line Break in San Jose Triggers Evacuations

Three homes on a residential street near Alum Rock Park in San Jose were evacuated Friday morning after a gas line ruptured, according to fire officials.

The rupture was reported around 11 a.m. on Suncrest Avenue and Perie Lane, in the Boulder neighborhood.

About 10 homes are sheltering in place, San Jose fire Capt. Kevin Stidham said.

PG&E crews are at the scene and expect to have the line repaired by 3 p.m. No injuries have been reported.
