Seven Pittsburg residents were displaced from their homes by an early morning fire Saturday.
Fire officials said the blaze was reported at 5:10 a.m., damaging a pair of neighboring two-story single-family homes at 2205 and 2107 Rain Drop Circle.
A gas meter in one house caught fire and the flames spread to the second house, officials said. Residents were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control, according to fire marshal Robert Marshall.
The fire caused around $400,000 in damage to both homes combined, Marshall said. The American Red Cross is assisting all of the displaced occupants.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
