Tour De Peninsula, tribal teachings, race along the lake

GO TRIBAL: Spend the evening learning about the San Francisco Bay area's early settlers, the Muwekma Ohlone Indians. Celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of the tribe while enjoying demonstrations and activities that highlight the area's history. Family Fandango runs from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m Saturday at Santa Teresa County Park's Historic Bernal Ranch.

RUN THROUGH THE PARK: Calling all hard-core runners for the Skyline 50k at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley Sunday. The race course takes runners through the trails and along the lake at the park. Race day registration starts at 5:45 a.m. for the 7 a.m. race.

TOUR DE PENINSULA: Feeling inspired by the famous Tour de France? It might not be as well-known or as watched but this local version that gives you a chance to ride along beautiful San Mateo County Parks with breaks at rest stops and scenic sites along the way. There's a gathering at the end with fun and festivities for the whole family. There are four different ride options, ranging from kid-size rides and beginner distances all the way up to advanced at more than 60 miles. Check in at the Captain's House Picnic Area between 6:30 - 8 a.m. Sunday to sign up for the rides.
