Gregor Blanco Makes Young Cancer Patient's Dream Come True

A young cancer patient had the surprise of his life when one of his favorite San Francisco Giants player visited him in the hospital while undergoing chemotherapy.

Gregor Blanco made an appearance at Saint John’s School Friday but student Callum Miller, or Cal as his friends and family call him, couldn’t be there because he was at a doctor’s appointment.

When Blanco found out how big of a Giants fan Cal was, he decided to pay him a special visit at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

"Gregor shared stories with us about his career, two World Series and his famous catch in Matt Cain's perfect game in 2012, and he took pictures with the whole family," said Cal's stepfather Dan Barahona.

On top of sharing his favorite career moments with Cal and his family and bringing a huge smile to his face, he handed Cal a signed bat and baseball to commemorate the special day.

"Gregor was incredibly generous and humble and we were all very happy to spend some time with him,” Barahona said. “It meant a lot to Cal that Gregor wanted to come and see him. We are very grateful for your kindness.”
