GoldieBlox is done feuding with the Boys.
Oakland-based toy company GoldieBlox has settled the lawsuit it filed against the Beastie Boys over a viral video the company produced that featured a rendition of the Boys' 1980s hit "Girls," according to reports.
GoldieBlox makes toys designed to compel girls to pursue careers in science and technology, rather than promoting dolls and cooking.
The company made waves with a video that featured a Rube Goldberg machine, but along with the publicity, GoldieBlox received some legal trouble.
In November, GoldieBlox filed a pre-emptive lawsuit against the Beastie Boys' representatives over any future claims of copyright infringement. That suit has been dropped; although a December action filed by the hip-hop group's people is still active, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
That video, released in the fall, is still up, but now does not have the song that riffed off of "Girls."
