Google Proxy Fires Back at Apple

HTC responds to Apple complaint by filing a complaint of its own

Last March, Apple took an indirect shot at its biggest rival by suing HTC -- the maker of the Google Nexus One -- for allegedly infringing on 20 iPhone patents.

Steve Jobs went so far as to say his company could "sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions..."We've decided to do something about it."

For its part, HTC has decided not to sit idly by. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has decided to do something about it as well and filed its own complaint against Apple saying the Cupertino, Calif. company stole five HTC owned patents related to mobile phones and devices.

HTC didn't stop there. The company asked the United States International Trade Commission to ban the import of not only the iPhone into the United States but the iPad and iPod as well.

The suit comes on the heels of a Nokia continuing its ongoing feud with Apple by filing a complaint alleging that the iPad was built on the back of its technology.
