A woman who was on the set of a music video shoot when it was robbed by armed men last month believes she may have come face-to-face with the same gun used to kill an artist who was working on a community mural in West Oakland.
Actress Diana Tenes is still shaken after coming face to face with an armed robber. She was shooting a music video with well-known musician Bilal on 23rd and Telegraph in Oakland last month when a man with a gun stole their equipment and belongings.
Tenes said her instinct was to run.
"I started running down the street. I heard footsteps behind me and I knew it was the guy with the gun," she said. "I honestly thought I was going to get shot in the back, I really did."
Tenes survived, but prosecutors say another of the suspect's alleged victims wasn't so lucky. Marquise Holloway, 20, was charged in court Tuesday for a slew of crimes, including the killing of muralist Antonio Ramos. Prosecutors also charged Holloway with robbery while using a firearm as it relates to Tenes' case.
Oakland police confirm the gun Holloway used was stolen from an Immigration and Customs Agent who left the service weapon in parked car in San Francisco in mid-September.
Tenes said she is outraged a law enforcement officer's gun ended up in the wrong hands, but she's grateful the stolen weapon wasn't used to take her life.
