Wanted Felon Captured Following Lengthy Manhunt in Palo Alto

The search for Timothy Angelo Molinari, a Mountain View resident wanted for outstanding warrants, also prompted six schools in the area to be placed on lockdown.

A 32-year-old man wanted for outstanding warrants was arrested by police following a lengthy manhunt Wednesday in Palo Alto.

The search for Timothy Angelo Molinari, a Mountain View resident wanted for outstanding warrants, also prompted six schools in the area to be placed on lockdown, police said.

At 9:35 a.m., police received a call from a house cleaner on the 300 block of Creekside Drive reporting a suspicious man loitering in the area. A responding officer located the man, later identified as Molinari. The cop recognized Molinari as a wanted fugitive and attempted to detain him, police said.

Molinari pulled away from the officer and fled the area, sparking a pursuit, according to police.

Officers from Palo Alto, Mountain View and Sunnyvale swarmed the 3900 block of El Camino Real and arrested Molinari around 12 p.m. after receiving reports from residents of a suspect running through backyards and climbing fences.

Molinari, who is on parole for drug and weapons related offenses, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for one felony count of failing to properly register as a sex offender and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, police said.

In addition, Molinari was also booked for two outstanding felony warrants and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School, Herbert Hoover and Fairmeadow elementary schools, Greendell and Keys schools, and AchieveKids were impacted for about 30 minutes by the manhunt. Students were locked in their classrooms, but instruction was not interrupted, police said.
