Hasbro Considers San Francisco for New Edition of Monopoly

San Francisco is in the running to be included in a new edition of Monopoly.

Hasbro has invited the public to vote among cities in their region through a poll on Buzzfeed for inclusion in the next edition of the Monopoly Here & Now game, which launched in 2006 and features real city landmarks.

Sixteen cities in the Western region are being considered: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City, Billings, Jackson Hole, Vail, Denver, Santa Fe, Phoenix, Anchorage and Honolulu.

The poll does not disclose the city rankings, but when voting for San Francisco at press time, this writer received a message stating that it is not currently in the top 10.

If San Francisco doesn't make it, perhaps citizens can take consolation in the fact that there are already authorized San Francisco and San Francisco Giants editions of Monopoly.
