Hell's Angels Suspect Spotted in San Jose

A Hell's Angels suspect was reportedly seen recently in San Jose.

San Jose police on Saturday said a man suspected of shooting a  fellow Hells Angels member during a funeral for the club's president had been spotted in the city within the previous 24 hours.

San Jose resident Steve Ruiz, 38, has been on the run from police  since the Oct. 15 shooting of Steve Tausan at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose.  The shooting occurred during a funeral for Jeffrey Pettigrew, the 51-year-old  president of the Hells Angels' San Jose chapter, who was killed at a casino  in Sparks, Nev. On Sept. 23.

A warrant has been issued for Ruiz' arrest, and he is considered  armed and dangerous, according to Officer Jose Garcia. He might be driving a  pewter-colored (gold) 1995 or 1996 GMC Yukon or an older gray Toyota  4-Runner.

Ruiz has ties in the cities of Gilroy, Campbell and Fremont.  Anyone aiding or harboring Ruiz will be arrested and prosecuted, Garcia said.

People who provide information leading to Ruiz's arrest and  prosecution may be eligible for a reward.
