A Hercules man pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to two counts of transportation of minors for prostitution, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Jamal Raphael Broussard, 24, is currently in custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail and will be sentenced in August. He faces up to 30 years in federal prison, a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a $250,000 fine.
Broussard was indicted and arrested in October on two counts of trafficking of children and on two counts of coercion and enticement for prostitution.
In May of 2013, he recruited and transported two girls for commercial sex acts and acted as their "pimp," providing them with clothing, instructing them and advertising their services on the Internet using pictures of the minors, according to the attorney's office.
Prosecutors said Broussard also provided the minors with fake identifications and sent them "from California to almost every state across the country for the express purpose of engaging in prostitution."
