High Surf Advisory Extended Along Pacific Ocean, Waves Peak to 20 Feet

A high surf advisory has been extended for another day as offshore wave heights peaked to nearly 20 feet this morning.

Breakers of up to 20 feet will be possible through 3 p.m. on Friday.

The threat of sneaker waves and unusually strong rip currents remains high into Friday evening.

While wave heights are expected to decrease into the evening, another strong storm in the Gulf of Alaska is expected to send higher waves in Northern California along the Pacific Ocean again by Saturday afternoon.
