A construction worker was killed Wednesday morning while on a highway widening project north of San Francisco.
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Wednesday that the worker appeared to have been crushed by a rolling pipe at a southern Petaluma construction site along Highway 101.
Calls for help to the site came around 7:15 a.m., with reports of a worker initially trapped underneath a pipe. About 10 minutes later, reports indicated the worker had died, the newspaper reported.
The workplace death was reported to Cal-Osha officials, according to initial reports. The incident remains under investigation
