2 Women Hurt in Hit-and-Run Collision Near San Jose Elementary School

One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision near Anne Darling Elementary School

Two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run collision near an elementary school in San Jose Wednesday morning, according to police.

The collision, which was reported just after 6:30 a.m., occurred in the area of N. 33rd Street and Berrywood Drive near Anne Darling Elementary School, police said.

Both pedestrians, who have only been identified as women at this point, were taken to a local hospital, according to police. One of the women suffered life-threatening injuries. The other sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A spokesperson with the San Jose Unified School District said they "have no reason to believe anyone from the school was involved" in the collision.

A description of the driver and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run were not immediately available.
