House Fire in San Jose Kills Dog, Son Jumps to Safety

A one-alarm San Jose house and car fire took the life of a family dog and many possessions inside, but luckily, no one was injured.

According to Chau Nguyen, the woman who lives in the 2000 block of Bouveron Court, her son jumped to safety from a window in the home when the fire broke out before 9 a.m. Her family dog, Snowy, however, didn't make it, she said.

Nguyen, who rents the home, said she spent the night in Gilroy and arrived home to see her garage on fire, which sent her into a panic.

Her home and car parked in the driveway was damaged because of the blaze. Fire crews are investigating how it started.
