A couple of hundred people gathered in Castro Valley to remember a 14 year old Jenny Lin who was killed in her home.
It happened 19 years ago and every year, on the Friday before Memorial Day her family holds a memorial in her honor.
Some 200 people came to remember Jenny at the Castro Valley library. They want to let people know that there’s still a $100,000 reward for information leading to her killer.
“After seeing the cases broken in other states like the ones in Ohio those are encouraging events we think one day our case will be solved,” John Lin said.
Jenny was found murdered in her home on May 27, 1994.
In 2006, investigators announced they were looking at a possible suspect, Alexander Sebastian Shaw, but so far to this day no charges have been filed.
“We are still looking at him he’s been interviewed a few times. We are hoping some of the evidence we still have with the new DNA technology can help us to tie him or rule him out as a suspect,” detective Greg Landeros said.

Jenny’s family would like to have closure, but they work tirelessly, working on ways to bring awareness to their daughter’s unsolved murder.
This year they dedicated the memorial to an art contest where the focus was on child safety, her dad said finding Jenny’s killer is something he hopes for everyday.
