Injured Cyclist Airlifted From SJ Park

The California Highway Patrol rescued an injured mountain biker with a helicopter in San Jose on Sunday.

The bicyclist was in a remote location in Henry Coe State Park when the Santa Clara County Sheriff's department asked the CHP to help with the  rescue just before noon, according to the CHP.

A helicopter with a paramedic found the bicyclist about two miles east  of the end of Gilroy Hot Springs Road, landed off site, treated and took the patient on board, according to the CHP.

The cyclist was taken to Valley Medical Center in San Jose.
