iPlay: Life of Steve Jobs to Hit the Stage

Apple is not a big fan of its CEO being portrayed as an action figure. So it's curious to think what the tech giant will do about a play based on the life of Steve Jobs.

Greenwich Village's Public Theater in New York will host "The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs," which will explore the famed CEO's obsessive nature and perils of American consumerism.

The play was written and will be performed by acclaimed one-man performer Mike Daisey. It will run in New York from Oct. 11 to Nov. 13.

The play already debuted in California where it was featured at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre from Jan. 23 to Feb. 27.

Daisey describes his depiction of Jobs as an exploration of the life of "a real life Willy Wonka."

The play is anything but a love note to Jobs. Daisey's character travels to China and sees first hand the human price of making Apple's gadgets.
