It's Official: Organic Fruit Tastes Better

Granola-munching hippies may know something about food after all.

Watsonville strawberries were the test subjects for the most extensive comparison so far of organic produce vs. non-organic.

And the verdict?

"Organic" is tastier,  more nutritious, and has a longer shelf life, albeit by only half a day. Nonetheless, the results were a surprise to the Washington state researchers who conducted the study.

Researches analyzed fruit over several seasons from different farms, and found organic berries had higher concentrations of antioxidants and vitamin C and taste testers preferred them.

DNA analysis also showed organic soil had more kinds of  microbes, an indication the ecosystem was more resilient.

The tests however did not examine pesticide content, which is sure to force hoardes of people in Berkeley to riot.
