Jerry Rice, 49ers Go Bowling For School Dollars in 1st and Bowl Challenge

Current and former 49ers, including Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, hit the bowling lanes with fans on Monday night for the inaugural 1st and Bowl Challenge.

The event at Bowlmor in Cupertino raised money for the 49ers Foundation and will go toward education programs for kids in the Bay Area.

"I haven't bowled in years, so I'm looking forward to just having a great time bowling and hanging out with the fans," Rice said before lacing up his bowling shoes. "This is for the 49ers foundation."

Rice scored a spare in his first frame.

Tickets to watch were $49, and corporate sponsors paid upward of about $3,000 a lane to play.

Sponsors included Amazon and nrg.
