The Jerusalem Fire, which is burning six miles south of the Rocky Fire in Northern California's Lake County, forced additional evacuations in the Jerusalem Valley Tuesday night.
Fire crews began to make progress on the blaze, which had scorched 16,500 acres by Wednesday morning. According to Cal Fire, the fire which had only grown 2,000 acres overnight, was just six per percent contained by Wednesday morning.
A total of 50 structures still remained threatened.
By Wednesday morning, over 1,660 firefighters were battling the fire, which began Sunday afternoon.
Despite the fire not growing all that much, additional evacuations were issued in Jerusalem Valley on Morgan Valley Road from Reiff Road to the Napa county line and on Reiff Road from Morgan Valley Road to the Yolo County Line.
