Kate Steinle's Family Establishes Fund in Her Name

A week after the acquittal of a Mexican man in the fatal shooting of Kate Steinle, the San Francisco woman's family is moving forward by establishing a fund in her name.

Steinle would have turned 35 years old on Dec. 13, and her parents say they want to honor her memory in a positive way. They're trying to reach $3,500 in donations by that date.

Jim Steinle and Liz Sullivan have started an endowment the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), which supports people with physical challenges. They want to raise enough money to give a young person a special sports wheelchair, which enable people to play basketball, run in races and perform numerous other activities.

To donate in the name of Kate Steinle, go to the CAF website's endowment page.
