Five Ways to Prep for Lady Gaga Show

Star performs Jan. 17 at HP Pavilion

The best people-watching event in the Bay Area this week will undoubtedly be Lady Gaga's concert, The Born This Way Ball, which stops at HP Pavilion in San Jose on January 17. Outfits are being coordinated as we speak, but let's hope there aren't any makeshift meat dresses in the crowd. If you're going, consider these five ways to get ready for the Bay Area landing of the Mother Monster:

1. Eat some Monster Paws

Tout Sweet Patisserie, located inside Macy's Union Square store in San Francisco, offers a pastry called Monster Paws created in Gaga's honor by owner and Top Chef Just Desserts winner Yigit Pura. She would definitely want you to enjoy a few of these beauties, which are filled with praline-coffee mousseline and caramelized almonds and topped with dark chocolate.

2. Dine like Lady Gaga

Gaga was spotted at Rosamunde Sausage Grill in San Francisco on her last visit. Recreate her stop by ordering a sausage in sunglasses and feigning shyness for pictures.

3. Get some stilletto nails

Mimic Gaga's fierce pointy digits at J&J Nails in San Jose, which offers the so-called stiletto nail manicures that she favors. You'll be ready to bear your claws in no time.

4. Wear your heart on your sleeve

Attempt to secure an appointment at San Francisco's My Trick Pony and design your own special one-off Gaga shirt.

5. Find your fellow Little Monsters

Gaga helped fund Silicon Valley startup Backplane to launch her online community Little Monsters. The Pinterest-esque site brings together fans sharing art about and inspired by her.

Tickets to The Born This Way Ball ($52.50-178) are available via Live Nation.
