Late Night Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 in Hospital in Concord: Police

Police are investigating a Friday night shooting in Concord that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital.

Officers responded at 11:04 p.m. to the area of Lacey Lane and Monument Boulevard on a report of gunshots fired, police said.

They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a nearby parking on the 1500 block of Frisbie Court. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Officers located a second shooting victim on Lacey Lane near Monument Boulevard. The male victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

Police said it appears both men were together in the parking lot when an unidentified Hispanic man approached and shot them. The suspect then fled the scene.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are unclear, according to police.
