Life and Death in a Jamba Juice

A Northern California woman is suing Jamba Juice after her husband collapsed and died in a bathroom.

Ninfa Ubias, from Marysville, says she tried to get a key to the bathroom from store employees after she heard a thud.

Her lawsuit says employees couldn't find the key in the April 2007 incident and that it took emergency crews 15 minutes to arrive and force their way inside.

Manuel Ubias, 64, never regained consciousness.

Ninfa Ubias wants funeral and burial expenses to be paid as well as the loss of financial support from her husband, according to the law suit.

A Jamba Juice would not comment on the case.

In Manuel Ubias' obituary it said he worked as a farm laborer for 50 years and had lived in the Yuba-Sutter area since 1968.
