Lyft Loses Mustache for Colorful Beacons

Lyft is making some changes starting on New Year’s Eve.

The San Francisco-based ride-sharing service will get rid of its iconic pink mustache logo and replace it with light-up beacons called amps. They’ll be on the dashboards of Lyft cars on Dec. 31 in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas. The beacons will communicate with riders’ smartphones, so drivers’ beacons will light up in a specific color when they get near their destination.

The smartphone will light up in the same color making it easier for drivers to see their customers.
