Magnitude-5.1 Earthquake Hits Near Ukiah: USGS

A preliminary magnitude-5.1 earthquake shook Northern California, near Ukiah, late Tuesday, according to the USGS.

The temblor hit just before 8 p.m. and was centered in Lake County, about 50 miles north of Healdsburg.

The quake hit about 11 miles below the surface on the Bartlett Springs Fault, the USGS said. Several aftershocks occurred including a magnitude-2.7 at 8:08 p.m. and a 3.0 at 8:24 p.m.

No injuries or damage were reported.
